But they are compelled to do so, because they also want to survive. And the right to life is universal. Our constitution also guarantees it. But they have to pay a high price for it, as your report also states, ‘’…the scars on their bodies bearing the marks of their misfortune’’. However, the society has an obligation to give a proper upbringing to its children without any discrimination. And it is the government of a country, which has the responsibility to see that the children are protected in their rights and safety. Street children will not resort to acts of mischief if they were shown the light at the end of gloomy tunnel.
